I'm very sorry to see him go.
Bush was the president we yearned for after Clinton's look-at-me, rockstar presidency.
Remember wishing for a grown-up?
We got him.
Hard-nosed and persistent.
A good example of persistence in the face of withering fire.
But by no imagination was he a conservative.
I'm also glad McCain isn't being sworn in now.
Because the same people that denigrate conservatism "because of Bush" would do it "because of McCain."
Now, though, it's all up to you lefties.
Here's hoping for another eight without any attacks on American soil.
